A special announcement from the official grand opening
Homeless is one of the pressing issues of our time. Today, more than 116,000 Australians do not have a place to call ‘home’. And the sad reality is that this number is growing day by day. On any given night 1 in 200 people are homeless. According to ABS Census, only 17% people are supported with accommodation others seek shelter. Homelessness results in significant social and economic costs not just to individuals and families, but also communities and the nation as whole.
iBuild Building Solutions is responding to this homelessness crisis by donating 100 prefabricated housing units to not-for-profit organisations over the next five years. The homeless donation announcement was made at iBuild’s official grand opening of its Campbellfield Factory.
The plan centres on iBuild’s commitment to provide real and practical solutions in breaking the cycle of homelessness in Australia. This pledge will benefit the homeless in providing adequate living and safety.
iBuild has taken initiative to resolve the homelessness crisis by providing both more and better-quality housing that meets the needs of homeless people and is delivered as quickly as possible – the most recent project in June 2018 where six modular, transportable units were erected for the homeless as part of a government’s initiative. iBuild is focusing on keeping vulnerable people off the street and accommodate them with dwelling. Having a safe and secure home is the foundation upon which strong individuals, healthy families and resilient communities are built.
iBuild Director Michael Zeng said that at iBuild they are extremely proud to be heading such an initiative to donate their world-renowned affordable Transpack and Modular houses for not-for-profit organisations to assemble on suitable land to accommodate rough sleepers.
