Plumbing Installation Stages in a Kit Home Build

Understanding the timing of plumbing installation is key to planning your kit home project effectively.

Plumbing Begins at the Foundation Stage

Plumbing works begin before the concrete slab is poured. Your licensed plumber will:

  • Dig trenches for the main plumbing connections (sewer and water).
  • Use machinery to prepare the site for pipework.
  • Install and position pipes, leaving them sticking up from the ground ready for connection.

This stage forms part of the foundation phase of your build.

Rough-In Occurs at the Frame Stage

Once the frame is up, your plumber returns to perform what’s known as roughing-in. This involves preparing internal plumbing lines through the structure, getting everything ready for later fit-out.

Important Note

This work is carried out by your plumber, who supplies their own machinery and completes these tasks in accordance with your plans and site setup.
