Duplex and Multi-Unit Options with iBuild Kit Homes

Charles Christodoulou: “Yeah. We do have some duplexes on our standard price list on the website and I think one of them’s called the Woywoy. There’s a couple on there. There’s a couple of duplexes or you can present your own design and we can prepare a quote for your cost estimate and then if you’re happy with that, you’d go ahead and get formal plans done.“

(Okay. So if there was like a block of four units or something like that that I was looking at, then that could be something that iBuild does, but it would have to be something that’s like an extra request.)

Charles Christodoulou: “Yeah, it they will do it. But yeah, if it’s not in our standard range, then how it would work, it would probably be depending on the total square metres. And if they’re double storey, you could be looking at about $2,250 to obtain a quote because someone’s got to calculate all the quantities. And from the quantity of materials then they can calculate the cost of those materials and then they can prepare the quote for you. Now on the standard plans they’ve already done all that work so they wouldn’t charge you.“

Charles Christodoulou: “Now then but if you’re happy with the quote iBuild offers you then because we don’t have any – I’m not sure if you got any formal plans or not but if you don’t if iBuild has to do all the formal plans it’ll be another deposit of about 7,000.“

Charles Christodoulou: “And then but that 7,000 if you decide to build with iBuild they will deduct that from your house price. So the only real additional cost—well no I’ll go back one step. If you decide yes I’m happy with the plans I’m happy with the cost iBuild will deduct all the monies you’ve paid from the house cost. But if you stop at quote stage and say, “Look, I’m not happy as more than I thought.” Then the money, the 2,250 you’ve paid for the quote is non-refundable.“

Yes. iBuild offers duplex designs on their standard price list and can quote for custom multi-unit projects.

Standard Duplex Designs

iBuild has some duplexes on their standard price list on the website. For example, one is called the woywoy. There are a couple of duplexes available as standard designs.

Advantage No quoting fee for standard designs, as all the quantity and cost calculations have already been done.

Custom Multi-Unit Projects

You can present your own design for multi-unit projects (like a block of four units). iBuild will do it, but it requires custom planning.

Cost: Approximately $2,250 to obtain a quote (depending on total square metres and whether they’re double storey)
Why: Someone has to calculate all the quantities. From the quantity of materials, they can then calculate the cost of those materials and prepare the quote.
Non-refundable: If you stop at quote stage and decide it’s more than you thought, the $2,250 you’ve paid for the quote is non-refundable.

Formal Plans Deposit

If you don’t have formal plans and iBuild has to do all the formal plans:

Additional deposit: About $7,000
Refundable: If you decide to build with iBuild, they will deduct that $7,000 from your house price
Non-refundable: If you stop after plans are done and don’t proceed, this cost is not refunded
