Australia China Modular Construction Technology Forum 2019
In a historical first, Monash University and iBuild Building Solutions are going to jointly host the inaugural Australia China Modular Construction Technologies Conference in January 2019 in Melbourne. iBuild’s Director of Engineering and Operations, Michael Zeng will be a co-chair of this conference.
Modular construction technologies have experienced substantial major developments and successful innovations in the the past decades. A few of these advancements are witnessed in China and Australian recent years, with efforts and contributions from engineers, researchers and many other professionals all over the world.
This event is to bring together the latest developments in research and practice on a full range of modern construction technologies with a focus on modular construction and structural assembly. The aim of the event is to provide a forum for young and experienced professionals and students, to share the latest developments and applications in the field, and to promote further collaborations.
This event consists of two days technical seminars and workshops with talks from both academic and industry. It also includes attending scientific and engineering practical presentations and discussions, learning from leading professionals in academic and industry, conference USB, abstract proceedings and industry brochures. Participants will get chance to expand their social network during conference lunches and dinner.
The forum takes place on 24-25 January 2019 at the most livable city in the world that is Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne is also highlighted for 44 level volumetric modular tower, prefabrication in major construction projects and design guides for modular structures.
The scope of this forum is introduction to the materials and component for prefabrication, continued with explaining the connections between structural and non-structural modular design and structural performances. Moreover, speakers will talk about building physicals and durability, fire and earthquake responses of design, environmental impact and evaluation on residential houses and apartments, aged-care and child facilities, school and hospital facilities, transportation, election and temporary works. Participants will also gain knowledge about Building Information Modelling (BIM), virtual reality and digital engineering process so that architecture, engineering, construction professionals can plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently. The scope also introduce management, finance, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, education and training.
Participants can register for this event until 30th November 2018. The construction site visit will materialize on 22-23 January 2018.
