Kit Homes Fiji: Engineered for Cyclones, Shipped by Container
iBuild project managers Antonie Marian and Timothy Zeng explain what it takes to supply an Australian-designed kit home to Fiji – designing for cyclones, humidity and salt exposure, packing every component into shipping containers, and coordinating delivery to site.
Antonie Marian: At iBuild, we design our homes based on Australian building standards, but for overseas projects like Fiji, we understand the local requirements are equally important.
Antonie Marian: A domestic project is mainly about design, manufacturing and construction. An overseas project is about delivering a complete solution across borders.
Antonie Marian: We are not only supplying a home, we are managing a supply chain, protecting materials during transport and ensuring the product arrives ready to be installed.
Timothy Zeng: The logistics process starts with carefully planning how the home will be packed into containers. Materials are prepared and protected specifically for shipping.
Timothy Zeng: Fiji’s environment requires careful material selection. We consider factors such as cyclone resistance, high humidity, salt exposure and corrosion.
Timothy Zeng: With the right preparation and a clear process, an Australian designed home can be successfully delivered for international locations like Fiji.

Kit Homes Fiji FAQs
Kit prices depend on the design you choose. See our kit home price list for current design prices, and delivery costs to South Pacific countries for export freight. Local construction costs in Fiji are separate and depend on your builder and site. Contact our team for an estimate that includes container shipping to Fiji.
Yes. iBuild designs, manufactures and supplies kit homes for Fiji and packs them into 20-foot shipping containers for sea freight. Our Kanacea Island project shipped three Seymour homes and a dining hall in nine containers.
Fiji is a cyclone-prone country, so homes need a cyclonic wind design. Fiji’s wind loading standard (FJS 1170.2) is based on the Australian AS 1170.2, and in 2025 the Fiji Government approved voluntary use of FS 4055, Fiji’s version of the Australian AS 4055 housing wind classification. iBuild’s Fiji kit homes are engineered for cyclonic wind classes up to C4, with site-specific engineering.
iBuild is a kit home supplier, not a builder. Your local builder, or you as an owner-builder, constructs the home. iBuild supplies the kit with drawings and documentation, and works with your local consultants and engineers so the design suits Fiji’s requirements and your site.
