iBuild was recently invited to the GSEM 2022 Federal Election Launch event at the Mount Waverley Community Center. Greater South East Melbourne (GSEM) advocates for the employment, infrastructure, sustainability, and wellbeing of the southeast region and its population.

The group comprises council representatives from the cities of CaseyFrankstonGreater DandenongKingstonKnox and Monash, as well as the shires of Cardinia, and Mornington Peninsula. The purpose of the event was to draw attention to GSEM’s launch of a new election platform calling on the next Federal Government to invest in policies and projects that would benefit the 1.5 million residents of the region.

Business leaders gathered alongside the community to showcase their progress and projects to representatives from the Federal Government and Opposition.

During the event, iBuild showcased its innovative building solutions and rapid  infrastructure deployment capabilities. Delegates were impressed by the great successes of the infrastructure projects delivered by iBuild, including the new Reservoir Train Station projects, and the Ballarat Aged Care facility.

These infrastructure projects demonstrated innovation in prefabrication results in more efficient and sustainable building solutions. For example, the Ballarat Aged Care Facility project involved building modules being prefabricated off-site and then delivered to the site to be assembled in a matter of 48 hours.

As another example, during the new Reservoir Train Station building project, the iBuild team piloted and developed an unconventional loading method, utilsing a heavy duty forklift, the only such one in Australia, to successfully load and install all building modules into place with accuracy. The station has become the first train station in Australia to be awarded a 5 Star Green Star As Built rating by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). The Reservoir project also achieved a ‘Leading’ rating, the highest scoring level awarded by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA).
