Here, an 81-hectare holding marks a decade-long dream finally taking shape for Georgina and Glenn Kirkpatrick. After buying their land in 2015 and navigating years of council challenges with a previous design that became unaffordable, the family with five children needed a fresh approach that balanced vision with today’s realities.
Drawing on hard-won experience, they knew exactly what they wanted: a wider home with character and the main bedroom separated from the kids’ rooms. As Georgina put it, they wanted a wider house with better views.

“It really came down to house design. We don’t want a long, skinny house; we wanted a wider home with better views. When I saw iBuild’s plan, I said, ‘They’ve got a design that’s so close to what we wanted.’”
Beyond design, their experience with iBuild’s customer engagement specialist Mark reinforced their confidence. Mark stayed in regular contact, understood the council history, and liaised directly with their builder to align next steps.

The Kirkpatricks selected iBuild’s Albury as the closest match to their brief and, working with the drafting team, are adding a storeroom to better support rural living – one of the only changes to their long-held plan.
