Dunsborough is a coastal town in Western Australia’s South West region, set on Geographe Bay about 250 km south of Perth. It’s known for its beaches, wineries, and easy access to nearby Margaret River and Busselton.
Juliet’s block is close to beaches, walking tracks, and local amenities, so she wanted a home that made the most of outdoor living while still being easy to look after. The Parramatta design ticked those boxes from day one.
The Granny Flat Parramatta is a smart, efficient layout that comes packed with everything you need in a self-contained home. Its simple design is complemented by a front deck, allowing you to enjoy everything your property has to offer, making it an ideal choice for a granny flat or secondary dwelling.
This project is using a timber frame, which works well for Juliet’s builder and timeline. For other customers interested in a similar outcome, iBuild can also supply equivalent steel frame options, so owners can choose the framing material that best suits their preferences, budget, or local builder.

For a location like Dunsborough, where the climate encourages time outside and visitors are common, this layout gives Juliet exactly what she needs: comfortable private spaces, a sociable living area, and a deck that embraces the coastal lifestyle.
Because the Parramatta footprint is compact and rectangular, it sits neatly on Juliet’s residential block without over-developing the site. There is still room for landscaping, parking, and outdoor storage, which is important in a holiday-friendly town where people often arrive with surfboards, bikes, and fishing gear.
Juliet’s custom Parramatta in Dunsborough shows how a tried and tested granny flat design can be adapted to a coastal Western Australian setting while still feeling personal and site specific.
