Keith & Mary's DIY KIT HOMES San Remo
We would like to congratulate our customer Keith & Mary for selecting the Kit Homes San Remo design for their project near Port Hedland ,WA
In Port Hedland, Western Australia, Keith and Mary Russell are turning a San Remo design into a real, two-storey home that reflects patience, problem-solving, and teamwork.
From Foundations to Framing
The site preparation moves steadily into structure: pre-slab plumbing is complete, deep screw piles secure the foundations, and a carefully finished slab forms the platform for everything to come.
Stirrups are set and concreted, verandah posts rise, and ground-floor framing locks the plan into place. Deliveries arrive in stages.
Builder Tom Paton keeps assembly moving on the ground, while iBuild project manager team coordinates with local suppliers to close gaps, confirm cleat details, and resolve tie-downs and bracing queries as they emerge.
Refining the Details, Raising the Frame
Engineering clarifications are part of the rhythm.
Cyclone-rated strapping is verified with an equivalent specification so the crew can press on with confidence.
Upper-floor supports go in, compressed-cement flooring follows, and top-floor framing takes shape against the Pilbara sky.
Keith pauses over the natural beauty of the exposed posts and considers clear finishes to preserve the timber’s character.
The structure edges toward the next big milestone – ready for roofing – with windows, cladding, AC sheeting, insulation, and roof sheeting queued to create a weatherproof shell.
