Andrew Ritchie is building a self-contained retreat in the backyard of his property in Blayney – a quiet inland town in regional New South Wales. Drawing on prior kit-home experience, he began this project with a clear plan and high expectations.

For this project, Andrew is constructing the Ballina design on a concrete slab foundation. He has opted for steel wall frames and trusses:
“I’ve already done timber. I’d like to use steel.”

Deliveries will be carefully scheduled and coordinated to help him reach lock-up quickly, with minimal delays. Andrew is managing development approvals himself, supported by his nephew, ensuring the build stays hands-on yet organised.
